Rags to Riches: The story of "Miselee" the 13" Blanket Back Beagle.
This is "Miselee", a community dog adopted by Willowbee Orchids owners Mark and Diana Lee along with their neighbors Mr. and Mrs. James Mise. We use the Mise's last name along with ours to come up with "MiseLee". She was a stray living in the nearby woods running around eating whatever she could to survive for many months. At the time my wife was asking me to buy her a "lap" dog. This cute but skittish 1 year & 6 month old tick and flea infested 13" Beagle pup, began hanging around our home scrounging in the trash for food. Our neighbors and I have outside cookouts and the Beagle pup would come just close enough where she could escape, if need be, searching for handouts. This dog runs like a Jack rabbit, so after many attempts, we finally caught her. We gave her a bath or two then ended up taking her to the vet for a check up. As time went on we learned that Miselee like to steal things. She once picked the wallet out of my wife's pocketbook then took it outside and proceeded to bury it, as she often did when we fed her with bones etc. I guess MiseLee thought it may be her last meal for some time.
She's has a loving and appreciative personality. My wife Diana and Miselee are the best of friends and when I arrive home from work Miselee bolts through the doggie door to greet me. Matter of fact I have a doorbell on the greenhouse for customers to alert us of their arrival, but it's not needed. MiseLee starts barking with her cute little bark when someone drives up then runs out the doggie door to greet the customer with affection.
So the story goes, that Miselee is our official Willowbee Orchids greenhouse greeter and my wife's "lap" dog. I'm off the hook :)
The End.
